Setting up. The following pages are mostly about the practical aspects of setting up a new aquarium. There's some technical information on filtration here, but not much else in the tech line, where the Skeptical Aquarist is shamefully inadequate. "Mis-Tech" is largely an entertainment on the theme of misguided technology. My thoughts on maintenance are more serious, though not perfectly orthodox. The page "Starting over" takes you through the somewhat different process of re-using the elements of your set-up, because if you fail to preserve the nitrifying bacteria, you'll have to pass once again through some of the stages of fishless cycling.
